Events and Opportunities
The Townsend Business Association believes local business is best served by creating a "presence" within the community. To this end, the TBA sponsors a booth at several annual events on the Townsend Common, as well as, sponsoring our own events to raise both awareness in the minds of the public about our member businesses and funds to be given back to the community where needed.
Decorating the Common for the Annual TEO Tree Lighting
The Annual Tree Lighting on the Town Common takes place the first Sunday in December. TBA performed a much needed electrical upgrade several years ago and then took on responsibility for decorating the common the week before the event.
IDEAS Welcome!
We would like to try additional events/programs to help raise awareness while providing the community with something new. Ideas include a Chili-Cookoff and a "Community Chest" which would enable our contractor members to provide small, needed home repairs to the elderly and lower income Townsend residents.
We would like to begin Quarterly Networking Meetings which would be open to all Townsend businesses, whether they are TBA members or not. The idea being, the more we know about each other, the more likely we are to support one another. Volunteers are needed to get this program off the ground.
